Melodic Death Metal from Puerto Rico
A Burning Rose is a Melodic Death Metal band from Puerto Rico, established in 2019 by Jorge M Neris (Vocals), Fernando Merced (Drums), Fabian Milian (Lead Guitar) and Ralph Butler (Rhythm guitar and Keyboards). The band developed its own unique sound inspired and influenced by other bands such as Arch Enemy, Cradle of Filth, Dark Tranquility, and many
others.
In 2020, during the global pandemic, A Burning Rose was preparing its first demo and had to stall its release. Ultimately on February 25, 2022 the band released its first EP entitled “Dance Show” and went on to make its first “live debut” on April 2 of the same year.
A month later, bassist Diego Garcia joined the ranks of A Burning Rose completing the line up. Now fully formed, the band has had the opportunity to participate in some of the most important Metal Festivals within the local
metal scene in Puerto Rico.
After its EP “Dance Show” was released, the band has produced two more singles, “Bathed in Silence” in 2023 and “Hells Bells” in 2024, demonstrating continual growth. The musical quality of their work has provided opportunities such as opening for the Brazilian Death Metal band “CRYPTA” on January 27, 2024.
On January 2025, the band and drummer Fernando Merced parted ways. This vacant position was later filled on April 5, 2025. On this day, A Burning Rose opened for the Goth Metal band Unto Others and formally introduced Jam Luis Rojas to the audience. His addition to the ranks as drummer brings a heavier style and energy to the band’s overall sound. Following this performance, on April 26, 2025, A Burning Rose competed in the Wacken Caribbean Metal Battle and won. On July 30th, 2025 , as result of this achievement, the band participated as finalists in Wacken Open Air festival held in Germany. The exposure from this global event has promoted the band’s presence in the metal scene allowing A Burning Rose the opportunity to perform in Tampa Death Fest held in Florida.
